Yes! It's here! After a very long wait, Jersey Shores is finally out on vinyl. Akimbo's sixth release and its most cohesive to date makes its long-awaited release on wax. After releases on Alternative Tentacles, Seventh Rule Records and Neurot Recordings, the band has joined the Red Cobalt family to undertake their first Japanese tour. What better way to mark this titanic journey than to release this mammoth of an album as a vinyl/CD combo.

Revolving around the infamous 1916 Jersey shark attacks, Jersey Shores is an impressive concept album that encompasses moments of eerie calm as well as the intense abrasiveness that mirror the viciousness of these shark attacks. Along with a more ambient and atmospheric approach, AKIMBO take in their trademark angular rock/metal - intense vocals, pummeling drums and ripping guitars- reminiscent of such bands such as THE MELVINS, KARP, BIG BUSINESS and BLACK FLAG.

To mark AKIMBO's first Japan Tour in November 2010, RED COBALT INDUSTRIES is putting out a limited Japanese edition of Jersey Shores with artwork administered by NAT DAMM, known for his rock posters for bands such as THE MELVINS, ISIS, CONVERGE, BOTCH, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, THE HIDDEN HAND
